I sit silently on the edge of my black sheets hoping to hear something. The phone silences after a loud shush noise. On the opposite side stood my boss and he had no idea I was here, hopefully it stays that way. At the moment I'm huddled up behind the last stall. I quickly shush at the phone and slide it into my pocket. I am about to speak when I hear the restroom door open and, of all people, my boss walk in. "It's a nervous habit." I can almost see her blushing. "Did you just say turd?" I chuckle lightly hoping no one heard me. "I'm super happy you called! and sorry.about Jack. "Oh yea you do know me." I nervously pace around the men's restroom. "Oh Hey this is Charlie! Oh wait you don't know Charlie. After my little "scene" I decided to call the number. I couldn't help but notice that she left me HER NUMBER!! I let out a little screech the started prancing around like an idiot. While waiting for my boss to leave the room I decided to actually DO my job. "Will do!" I wave slightly as my stress levels release themselves once again. "Sorry sir I just zoned out a bit." I try to make up some silly excuse. "What are you doing Charlie?" He says tilting his head. "Stupid friend huh." I tap my fingers on the note then quickly shove it in my apron pocket when my boss appears. I just wanted to give you my number because I didn't get a chance. Could it be that one girl? I got a lot of people coffee today.ANYWAY! Hey cafe boy! it's me, the girl that you got coffee for. I walk slowly to the register to see a note. He finally gives up and let's me go on my way. "Wait! Ash.come on! ASH!" Jacks voice echoes in my ears, but I ignore it. I then exit the cafe promptly,"To think I didn't even get the boys name. goodbye jack." I walk over to the front counter, rip out a paper and pen, write my number down, and swiftly slip it onto the cash register. Can't just leave me here for Christ sake." "Now look at what you've done you asshole." I exclaim taking my coffee and leaving. "Yea can I get a cannoli?" Jack's attitude rages through his hideous posture. "Here's your." The boys face expels doubt and regret,".coffee." He looks down as he places the coffee on the table in front of me. "Yes indeed." he lays back on the seat proudly. "Why hello Jack." I softly roll my eyes as he shrugs his shoulders,"Fancy seeing you here." I turn around slightly but didn't see anyone but then was surprised to see a boy sitting in the seat in front of me. "Hey!" A familiar voice echoes from behind me. Maybe once he comes back I can say something, if he comes back.
I didn't really pay attention to him, which i now regret because I think he was attempting to flirt with me. "Heh, so I will be back with that coffee." A smile escapes his lips as he stumbles back to the kitchen. "Oh." I sigh lightly as I exchange glances with him once more before I go back to reading my book. "Oh nothing." He chuckles softly,"Just my way of remembering." "Just a coffee." He mumbles jotting it down on his notepad. "What can I getcha?" A deep voice expels into my ears. those thoughts escaped my mind after I entered the cafe early this one October morning.
Have you ever wondered about who you were meant to be? Why you were placed on this earth? Who were you meant to love? Were you even meant to love? But that all changed.
